Artwork text
22, Italian, divorced, 4 children My parents’ divorce was traumatic. I was very small and I suffered a lot and still suffer because of it. My father was always violent, he used me… and my mother was never there to take care of me. Even though she now wants to be my mother, I don’t see her as a mother but as a woman who wishes to control what is good and bad for me. I have two children, I don’t live with my husband, I have a daughter who is four and a son who is a year old, by another man. I now have a boyfriend who I love very much but my mother takes the liberty of ordering me to avoid all men, because I need to devote myself to my children. I decided to leave home and take my life into my own hands. (Sanja Ivekovic)
