The installation is constructed using the design of an advertisement published in a women’s magazine as a model: the performance area is divided into three equal parts, each space having a title—Un jour tendre, Un jour violente, Un jour secrète—and each provided with the props referred to in the text. I enter the middle space, apply appropriate make-up, take occasional refreshments and, in the end, change my costume. I then exit the performance area and walk out into the audience. During the performance the advertising message, which I narrate, is played back through the loudspeakers. (Sanja Ivekovic)
