This Film shows Gordon Matta-Clark grilling a pig for the final party of the Brooklyn Bridge Event on 24 May 1971, organized by Alanna Heiss. In June of the same year, Matta-Clark founded the restaurant “Food” in Soho with Carol Goodden, Suzy Harris, Rachel Lew, and Tina Girouard. This was a legendary artists’ meeting-place, not only because of its unusual décor but also because of the dishes prepared by various artists. Cooking as an alchemical process is a theme that occurs again and again in Matta-Clark’s work. (Sabine Breitwieser)
