Artwork text

In May 1972, Gordon Matta-Clark installed an industrial waste container between 98 and 112 Greene Street. He collected discarded doors and pieces of timber and divided the interior into three corridors leading into various rooms with numerous alternative openings. On the opening day there was a performance by the artist, Tina Girouard, Suzy Harris, Barbara Dilley, Vito Acconci, and other friends. (Corinne Diserens)
