Shigeko Kubota

Shigeko Kubota was born in Niigata, Japan in 1937. She studied sculpture at Tokyo University and graduated with a bachelor's degree (BA). In 1964 she went to New York, USA and continued her studies at New York University from 1965-66, at the New School of Social Research from 1966-67, and at the Art School of the Brookyln Museum from 1967-68. In 1978 she taught at the School of Visual Arts, New York. Shigeko Kubota lived and worked in New York, where she died in 2015.
