Lynda Benglis

Lynda Benglis was born in 1941 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA. In 1964 she graduated from Newcomb College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting, ceramics and philosophy. She then moved to New York and studied painting at the Brooklyn Museum Art School. She has taught at numerous institutions, including Hunter College, New York and the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia. In 2000, she was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Kansas City Art Institute. Lynda Benglis lives in East Hampton, New York and Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.
