Klub Zwei
Klub Zwei was founded in 1992 by Simone Bader and Johanna Schmeiser as a collective of artists in Vienna. In 2010 they received the Prize for Video and Media Art, Vienna.
Simone Bader was born in 1964 in Stuttgart, Germany. Since 2001 she has been teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna at the Institute of Fine Arts. She lives and works in Vienna.
Jo Schmeiser was born in 1967 in Graz, Austria. She lives and works as an artist, freelance graphic designer and author on cultural and socio-political topics in Vienna.
Klub Zwei deal with relevant socio-political issues of contemporary history. With feminist themes, anti-Semitism, racism and migration, they span the history of the 20th century to the present. They are committed to analyzing different perspectives of historiography, incorporating cultures of memory and oral history.
They work with the media, film and video, print graphics and large-scale room installations.
