Hans Kupelwieser

Hans Kupelwieser was born in 1948 in Lunz am See, Lower Austria, Austria. From 1970 to 1973 he attended the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt, Vienna. From 1972 to 1982 followed studies at the University (then College) of Applied Arts, Vienna with Bazon Brock and Peter Weibel. 1994 he received the Prize of the City of Vienna for Visual Arts and
In 2008 he was awarded the Lower Austrian Culture Prize - Media Art Appreciation Award. Since 1995 he has held a professorship at the Graz University of Technology at the Institute of Contemporary Art and teaches plastic design as an emeritus full university professor. Hans Kupelwieser lives in Graz and Vienna.
