The School of Narrative Dance offers a framework that brings together people with different cultural and social biographies, skills, and interests. The basic practices of the school include dance, music and other forms of body-based performance, while the implementation of the school itself is flexible. It is constantly being redeveloped by the artist in engagement with the site and in collaboration with the host institutions. The first realization of The School of Narrative Dance was in 2012 in Berlin. Since then there have been more than thirty further editions, including in Cold Spring, Cuenca, Ebensee, Évora, Copenhagen, Johannesburg, London, New York, Oulu, Palermo, Paris, Rome, Shenzhen, Stockholm, Turin, Venice, and Zurich. Expanded with each issue, the video Ongoing Documentary shows the ongoing story of The School of Narrative Dance. (Jürgen Tabor)
