Artwork text

In the exhibition were two video systems. One monitor was covered by a cloth. The camera for this monitor was pointed at my assistant and me. The other camera was pointed at the covered monitor. The image of the covered monitor was transmitted into another room on Monitor 2 for the viewers. When Monitor 1 was uncovered, the picture of my assistant and me appeared on it, and thus on Monitor 2. During the demonstration, a text related to the demonstration was read out. My assistant pointed a pistol at Monitor 1 and shot the screen to pieces. Monitor 2 showed Monitor 1 wrecked. The reality (the shot) destroyed the medial reality on Screen 1 and became medial reality on Screen 2. The shot rendered realities visible. (Richard Kriesche)
