    From 07/29 to 11/05/2017
Curator: Marijana Schneider, Curatorial Assistant, Museum der Moderne Salzburg

Venue: Museum der Moderne Salzburg, Rupertinum, Generali Foundation Study Center

The exhibition presented a selection of rare graphic art editions, publications, and photographs from the holdings of the museum and the Generali Foundation Collection. The focus was on lines as traces of graphical and performative gestures.

When a point is set in motion, it becomes a line, the trace of an act. This creative process has spawned an almost inexhaustibly rich historical diversity of visual phenomena. The works shown in the exhibition represented exemplary engagements with the potential of the line on paper. The spectrum ranged from minimalist forms to extravagant gestures and virtuoso specimens of the incapacity to control lines & gestures.
