Artwork text

School leavers, university leavers, retrained people, long-term unemployed people, former drug addicts, and middle managers—all are sup-posed to learn to put themselves on offer and sell themselves, for which purpose the term “self-management” has been invented. A job inter-view is meant to present the entire human, not just his or her measurable suitability, which has already been sent in on paper. The entire hu-man being feels accepted or rejected. It was Kafka who presented the entry into a job as the entry into the Kingdom of God and also made clear that the path to the one and the other is always uncertain. (Harun Farocki)
