Ostensibly an introduction to the Antoni Tàpies Foundation in Barcelona, the videotape turns its focus, instead, on the phenomenon of the monographic museum in the context of Catalan nationalism and Spanish fascism, and looks at the ways in which artistic ambitions are institutionalized within museums. Clips from an interview with Antoni Tàpies conducted by Fraser are juxtaposed to footage of the Tàpies Foundation, the Miro Foundation, the Picasso Museum, the Dali Museum, the Clara Museum, and images of the city of Barcelona.
