Ree Morton was born 1937 in Ossing, New York. 1958 she finished undergraduate studies and held a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Rhode Island, Kingston. Since 1970 she held a Master of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia. From 1970 until 1975 she taught as assistance professor at the Philadelphia College of Art. She took over further teaching activities at the Montana State University, Bozeman (1974), at the University of California, San Diego (1975-1976) and at the Art Institute of Chicago (1977). Ree Morton died 1977 in a car accident.
