Marcello Maloberti was born in Codogno, Italy in 1966 and studied fine arts at the Accademia di Belle Arte di Brera in Milan. His artistic production is characterized by eclectic strategies and intentionally breaks through the borders between performance, theater, film, installation, photography, painting, and collage. He often integrates the audience into his actions, which blend together theatrical staging with absurd parades, Happenings, and demonstrations without a political message, and in this way, create a mirror image of society. The artist’s solo exhibitions include the Kunstverein Ludwigsburg (2009), GAMeC, Bergamo, Italy (2009), and MACRO, Rome (2012). He participated at Performa, New York in 2009. Maloberti lives and works in Milan and New York.
