Lili Dujourie was born in Roeselare, Belgium in 1941. Her performances, recorded on video since the 1970s, are seminal works of the feminist post-avant-garde. Dujourie has also worked in the medium of sculpture since the mid-1980s. In addition to the artist’s key solo exhibitions, including those at de Appel Amsterdam (1988), Bonner Kunstverein (1990), Münchner Kunstverein (1998), and BOZAR in Brussels (2005), she has also participated in the Documenta 12 (2007), 7th Gwangju Biennial (2008), and 9th Sharjah Biennial (2009). She was a fellow at the DAAD in Berlin from 1989 to 1990. Dujourie lives and works in Gent.
