CIMAM, the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art, will hold a two-day conference entitled "Contemporary Institutions as Producers in Late Capitalism" at the Generali Foundation in Vienna on 20 through 21 August 2007. As a member of CIMAM’s board, Sabine Breitwieser, director of the Generali Foundation, is responsible for the organization and thematic orientation of the meeting. 120 museum directors and curators from 45 countries are expected to attend.
The conference is held annually at varying locations and has become the most important international forum of exchange between museum specialists, artists, and experts in the fields of modern and contemporary art. Its principal purpose is the presentation of new and unpublished projects as well as open discussion.
